Meet our missions instructors, faculty and adjunct faculty members of Regent University School of Divinity.

Howard Foltz, D.Min. (Denver Seminary)

Dr. Foltz has been a professor of Global Evangelization in the School of Divinity since 1985. He received his D.Min. from Denver Seminary with a major in missiology, his M.A. from the Assemblies of God graduate school in Springfield, Missouri with a major in missions communications, and his B.S. from Southwestern University in Waxahachie, Texas with a major in missions. He also studied at Brite Theological Seminary at Texas Christian University, Denver University, North Texas State University, and Bob Jones University. Read more.

Miguel Alvarez, D.Min. (Ashland Theological Seminary)

Dr. Alvarez is a missionary from Honduras serving as Vice President of the Asian Center for Missions and adjunct professor of Intercultural Studies in Regent University's School of Divinity. He is also Chancellor and former President of the Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries in Manila, Philippines. Dr. Alvarez is ordained with the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) and has served in several capacities within his denomination as youth leader, pastor, missionary, and educator. Dr. Alvarez is a specialist in intercultural studies (cross-cultural missions), missionary training, and holistic missions. He is also a consultant in the areas of church growth and cell church development.

Peter Prosser, Ph.D. (University of Montreal)

Ordained an Anglican priest, Dr. Prosser has served as a pastor, missionary, consultant, and chaplain for 31 years. He is the author of a number of books and articles, as well as the recipient of the Silver Medal for International Outstanding Scholar of 2001 at the Cambridge International Biographical Institute, Cambridge, U.K. Read more.

 

Patricia West, M.Div. (Regent University)

Rev. Patricia West is an ordained minister and an adjunct professor at Regent University's School of Divinity. She received her M.Div from Regent University and her B.S. from Old Dominion University. Rev. West has ministered in East Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East as an evangelist, teacher, and mobilizer. She serves as the Middle East field representative for Accelerating International Mission Strategies (AIMS). She is also a professional musician who has served as a worship leader and performed nationally with "Concerts for Christ" ministry. Presently, Rev. West is in the Doctor of Ministry Program at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Jerry Smith, M.A. (Regent University)

Jerry Smith is an Adjunct Professor for Global Evangelization at Regent University’s School of Divinity. He received his M.A. in Biblical Interpretation from Regent University and his B.A. in History from Wake Forest University. He is ordained with Harvesters International and serves Accelerating International Mission Strategies (AIMS) as the coordinator for their primary training effort, Equipping for the Harvest. He has trained national church leaders in Mexico, Burkina Faso, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Cuba, Argentina and Chile, India, and Australia. Jerry also served six years as a missionary to Ecuador. His role there included teacher, administrator of a national Bible institute, as well as National Field Director, Ecuador for Calvary International.

Deborah Strong, M.A. (Regent University)

Deborah Strong is an ordained minister and an adjunct professor in Regent University's School of Divinity. She has lived overseas as a career missionary for 20 years in Nepal and the Philippines. During her time in Asia she founded three Bible Schools and also served as a Bible School administrator and teacher. The focus of her ministry is to teach, train and equip church leaders and missionaries in the 10/40 Window. She has trained national church leaders in 98 nations.
